The attractive booth design garnered the attention of various other exhibitors and industry professionals, as well as that of visitors, at the fair. Its innovative design was aimed primarily at highlighting the publishing house’s catalog of titles, with a special focus on the works of local Qatari authors.
Among their top achievements at the fair, HBKU Press signed a contract with one of the most important audio book companies in the industry Kitab Sawti (Sweden) with whom they will work to create and distribute audio books, in Arabic, around the world.
Designed to target both children and adults, TII’s Language Center courses are delivered by experienced instructors, who actively support language learning for students with diverse cultural backgrounds, irrespective of their current proficiency level. After a round of initial placement tests, all registered students will be allotted an appropriate language command level.
Two prominent academic institutions in Qatar and Turkey, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and Ibn Haldun University (IHU), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a ceremony in the Turkish city of Istanbul. The agreement will see both higher education institutions cooperate on graduate-level education, as well as collaborate on joint research, publications, specialist area projects, and language programs. The agreement also creates a scope for HBKU and IHU to jointly organize symposia, seminars and conferences.
On the sidelines of the 10th Annual International Translation Conference held in Doha on 26 and 27 March 2019 titled ‘Translation Beyond the Margins,’ Dr. Amal Mohammed Al Malki, Founding Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, spoke about the increasing interest in translation in the Arab world, and the importance of communication in various languages on a global platform.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) inaugurated its HorizonHub Workshop series with a special session highlighting trends, challenges and opportunities in Quantum Computing research.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Law (CL) collaborated with the Supreme Judiciary Council of Qatar to host a special visit from the Chairman of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, The Honorable Bakhtiyor Islamov.
Chairman Islamov shared insights into the courts of Uzbekistan as well as recent national developments, highlighting efforts to promote the rule of the law in the country. His presentation also explored judicial independence, the role of technology in the judicial system, and the importance of the judiciary in protecting individual rights.
