The health sciences are central to improving the quality of life and improving the human condition.
As a discipline, the health sciences involve two aspects. The first is directed toward the study, research and development of knowledge on the human physical condition and diseases that impact health and well-being. The second is applying the knowledge gained to improve health, develop effective therapies that alleviate and/or cure diseases, and implementing measures that control the incidence of disease.
CHLS programs integrate scientific expertise and combine a collective of seasoned researchers at the university with esteemed external clinical and health science partners.
Even though I’m not from a biological science background, the faculty of CHLS have helped me learn, discover, navigate and successfully complete my Master’s in Genomics and Precision Medicine. Their perseverance, dedication, and most essentially their willingness to guide and assist students individually has helped keep us going!
Zeenath SafiraPhD in Genomics and Precision Medicine, CHLS
This is my second year as a master’s student in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program. Throughout these two years, I have learned and gained a lot of experience and skills. I had the opportunity to gain exposure to various aspects of the biomedical field, thanks to our college’s continuous expansion. Not to mention that the staff and members of CHLS are helpful, understanding, and giving. The least I can do is to thank CHLS for giving me the opportunity to be part of their community.
