The Arabic Language Today: Legacy and Future

On December 18, the United Nations marks Arabic Language Day, celebrating its vast legacy that spans more than 1,500 years. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Dr. Mahmoud Muhammad Alhirthani details how initiatives such as the “Fanar” project - a joint Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Qatar Computing Research Institute initiative - are key to preserving the language’s heritage and ensure its future growth.
