CSE’s research study seeks to advance drug therapy for tuberculosis

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s College of Science and Engineering (CSE) has contributed to an international study with important findings that may help address the challenge of increasing drug-resistance against tuberculosis (TB), which is currently the leading cause of death by an infectious disease worldwide.

CPP Announces Distinguished Visiting Professorship

The College of Public Policy at HBKU has announced a new professorship - the “Distinguished Visiting Professor of Public Value” - designed to stimulate policy impact and dialogue in Qatar. 

Each year, CPP will invite to HBKU two or three internationally renowned scholars/practitioners from different fields of policy debate in Qatar and the world. They will share their research with HBKU scholars and students, and within Education City, engage with policy professionals and public and private sector leaders, while also reaching out to the wider community.

Maker Majlis, a platform under the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), was invited to a special award ceremony at the Embassy of Bangladesh earlier in August, to formally recognize its impact on the lives of youth, for which it won the Sheikh Hasina Youth Volunteer Award last year.

QBRI, QCRI and PHCC Launch Test of Prediabetes Screening Tool

National efforts on diabetes prevention have been boosted by a collaboration between Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI), Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), both at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), which will enable the Prediabetes Risk Score in Qatar (PRISQ) to be validated in primary care settings.
