CHLS Hosts Student Research Forum

The College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) organized its Annual Student Research Forum on October 3, showcasing student achievements and ongoing projects. After almost three years of challenges, the event marked a welcome chance for the CHLS community to connect and celebrate “the new generation of researchers”. CHLS invited distinguished biochemist and cancer researcher Dr. Bruce Stillman, President and Director of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, to be the guest keynote speaker.

Master of Science (MS) and PhD students shared their research through posters and oral presentations. It was an opportunity to practice their skills in communicating scientific work and exchange new ideas to enhance their research.

A judging panel selected outstanding contributions in six categories:

Best Oral Presentation:

  • Safa Saleem and Muneera Vakayil (Tied)

Best Poster Presentation:

  • Amira Alwa - MS in Biological and Biomedical Sciences
  • Farah Shurrab - MS in Genomics and Precision Medicine
  • Sulaf Nabil Kadoura - MS in Exercise Science
  • Ayesha Banu - PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences
  • Abeer Mahdi - PhD in Genomics and Precision Medicine
