Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG), a member of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), hosted its “Market Day” event, marking the conclusion of the Our Organic Farming Future competition. Launched as part of the Garden’s Educational Food Security Program, the initiative advances QBG's mission to promote experiential learning among students, raise awareness of botanical knowledge and environmental conservation, and address contemporary environmental challenges such as food insecurity and climate change.
Aligned with Qatar’s priority of advancing and safeguarding the Arabic language, culture and heritage, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently unveiled the upgraded version of Qatar’s first Arabic generative AI platform, Fanar 2.0.
Launched at the World Summit AI, Fanar 2.0, developed by Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), is a platform with capabilities extending beyond Arabic generative AI to a national, sovereign model and data protection, with development and oversight led by local expertise in line with national priorities.
Research led by Dr. Christos Anagnostopoulos, UNESCO Chairholder on Governance and Social Responsibility in Sport, reveals significant shortcomings in the structures and functions of women-in-sport organizations around the world. Through its A-Sense Center of Excellence, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF), has entered into a strategic research and innovation partnership with Xaidi, a leading Swiss AI health tech company, which has created cutting-edge solutions for people in Qatar with autism. The agreement was signed today at Web Summit Qatar 2026 in Doha, by Dr. Mounir Hamdi, Dean of HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering (CSE), and Dr. Peter Owotoki, Co-Founder of Xaidi Ltd.

Building on their shared commitment to strengthening national capabilities in advanced electronics, semiconductor technologies, and intelligent systems, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council have entered into a strategic partnership. Under the collaboration, QRDI will fund the University’s newly launched master’s program in Integrated Circuits and Intelligent Systems Design.
