To mark the second half of the current school year, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) is excited to launch a collection of new and classic children’s books in Arabic that are now available for sale.
Despite the cancelation of the 2021 Doha International Book Fair as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, HBKU Press has committed to continue its work to cultivate children’s literature in the region and in the Arabic language.
The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has launched a new volume of Astrolabe: A CIS Student Research Journal, featuring faculty-reviewed papers developed by graduate students through their transdisciplinary coursework.

In line with its commitment to improve and transform healthcare across the country, Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) is collaborating with Qatar University (QU) to help advance its capabilities to conduct high quality and innovative biomedical research in Qatar.
The College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently conducted a skills workshop as part of the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program, titled Writing for Diverse Audiences. The workshop was presented by Dr. Logan Cochrane, associate professor at CPP, and Ms. Lynne M. Fraser, Senior English Writing Specialist at Qatar National Library.

The Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) represented by its Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) signed a cooperation framework to benefit from QEERI’s laboratories, one of the research institutes of HBKU.
The ceremony took place at HBKU’s headquarters in the presence of H. E. Engineer Essa bin Hilal Al-Kuwari, KAHRAMAA President and Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, President of HBKU, and Dr. Marc Vermeersch, Executive Director of QEERI.

The new titles span across all genres and include a mix of original language works in Arabic and English as well as translated works from other languages.
Cyberattacks on healthcare systems are on the rise globally. Amid the widespread disruption of the pandemic, cybercriminals have launched complex and coordinated attacks – from financial threats to those targeting privacy.
The agile nature of attackers, ease of reconnaissance, and a general lack of collaboration and trust among defending organizations renders effective defense more difficult. For healthcare systems, the rapid adoption of digital solutions has only expanded the attack surface, while insider breaches are much more common and easier to launch.
