In this exclusive interview, we speak to Abdulla Al-Mesallam, a Master of Public Policy student at Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Public Policy, about his future aspirations, and why the master’s was his program of choice.

Please tell us about your area of study at HBKU. 

I am a Master of Public Policy student now specializing in Energy and Environmental Policy.

Most people who contract COVID-19 are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms and can recover at home by getting enough rest, staying well hydrated, and taking medications that relieve fever, aches, and pains.

Diabetes is a major healthcare challenge and priority in Qatar, with its prevalence currently at 17% ─ twice the global average. Ten percent of diabetes cases are type 1 (T1D) and 90% are type 2 (T2D). A further 20% of the population have prediabetes, with a high risk of developing T2D.
