Dr. Xiaosong Ma, principal scientist at Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has been recognized as an ACM Distinguished Member for outstanding scientific contributions to the computing field. Dr. Ma is the first woman (and sixth overall) to reach this prestigious grade while working in the Arab region. Dr. Ma became the fourth member of QCRI to receive such recognition from ACM. Faculty members and scientists at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) have been named among the top 2 percent of the world’s most-cited in the career achievement category, part of a global list compiled by Stanford University, USA.
