As part of its ongoing student outreach initiative, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) – a member of Qatar Foundation – recently showcased its degrees to students and the community at ‘Discover Education City’ (DEC). The outreach drive at DEC – a QF-wide education fair for school children – provided students from public and private schools across Doha with an opportunity to learn more about the undergraduate and graduate programs offered by HBKU’s six reputable colleges.
Delegates from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) six colleges are currently in Russia meeting students and fellow academics. Their objective is simple: to heighten awareness of the University’s dynamic programs and encourage high-caliber candidates to continue their studies with one of the Gulf region’s leading research-focused universities.
Going a step further from the concept of fiat money---a currency without intrinsic value---the availability of computers and connectivity has enabled the possibility to have money that is just electronic. Attempts to create such a digital currency can be traced back to the 1990s with the introduction of electronic cash systems such as eCash, which soon went out of service due to a lack of demand, both by consumers and merchants, and technological limitations.
