Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) wrapped up its World Alzheimer’s Month campaign with a webinar titled: “Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease: The Latest in Research and Best Practices”. The campaign also included releasing various editorials, web articles and social media posts to help create awareness about the disease.
The chosen writers from the 2019 and 2020 Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) & Art Omi Writer’s Residency, Lilas Taha and Layanne Malluhi, will participate in the fall session of the annual Art Omi: Writers residency program in Ghent, New York beginning on October 1, 2021.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation with the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), one of the most prominent institutions in the region.
The three-year MoU will be facilitated by the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at HBKU and was signed recently by their respective representatives: Professor Dzulkifli Abdul Razak, rector of IIUM, and Dr. Emad El-Din Shahin, dean of CIS.

The Language Center at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has launched its fall 2021 language courses for the public. Adults, young people, and children can choose from 12 global languages with courses offered between September 11 and December 15. Classes will be delivered both online and face-to-face at flexible timings.

Dr. Leslie A. Pal, founding dean of the College of Public Policy (CPP), recently attended the 5th International Conference on Public Policy (ICPP) in Barcelona, Spain. Dr. Pal is vice-president of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA), which co-organized this year’s conference with the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI). Impactful illustrations that resonate with readers from around the world have been the key drivers to HBKU Press’s success this literary awards season, with four out of seven awarded books recognized for their memorable artwork in addition to their meaningful stories.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has welcomed incoming and returning students, staff, and faculty, to a new, hopeful academic year 2021/2022 under the overarching theme “Hayakom at HBKU”.
More than 300 new students have started their academic adventure within the HBKU community’s six colleges. HBKU marks a return to in-person learning for the first time since the pandemic prompted a switch to online learning.
