Interest is growing in the concept of Universal Basic Income (UBI), which entails the state providing its citizens with a fixed monthly amount for the rest of their lives. In this article, the College of Islamic Studies' Abdulazeem Abozaid makes the case that UBI is compatible with Islam, subject to conditions and controls.
