Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently recognized undergraduate students who demonstrated academic excellence throughout their studies at the President’s and Dean’s List Recognition Ceremony.

Four faculty members from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Public Policy (CPP) - Dr. Esmat Zaidan, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; Dr. Evren Tok, Associate Dean for Community Engagement; Dr. Asmaa Al Fadala, Assistant Professor; and Dr. Logan Cochrane, Associate Professor - have co-edited a new open access book titled The Future of Education Policy in the State of Qatar (Springer). The edited volume brings together 45 contributing authors from at least 12 countries, offering 25 chapters across 514 pages of in-depth analysis and diverse perspectives.

Naqd, meaning “critique,” has historically been vital to Arabic epistemology, emphasizing the verification of knowledge, ethics, and cultural values. More specifically, it functions as a framework through which scholars, educators, and students can identify flaws and provide an appraisal. Naqd needs to be revisited to enhance the quality of discourse, reclaim cultural integrity, and promote moral reasoning. 

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Law hosted a public discussion on the essential role of international law in preserving Qatar’s cultural heritage, exploring how legal measures can be developed and implemented to safeguard the country’s customs and traditions.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Qatar Center for Quantum Computing (QC2) and the Institute for Quantum Optics (IQO) at Ulm University successfully co-hosted a mini-workshop titled “Quantum Sensing and NV Experiments.” Delivered in hybrid format, the event brought together leading quantum scientists, early-career researchers, and professionals from a variety of institutions worldwide, creating a vibrant platform for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
