HBKU Press Books Win at the 2020 International Book Awards

Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press’ (HBKU Press) latest children’s title Spring Bloom was named a winner in the category of Children's Educational at this year’s edition of the International Book Awards (IBA). Co-authored by Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar’s (VCUarts Qatar) Sadia Mir and Summer Al-Jarrah Bateiha and illustrated by award-winning artist Inna Ogando, the book was also recently named a winner at the 2020 Purple Dragonfly Book Awards. 


Qatar to Host MENA's First WASM Congress in 2022

Qatar will become the first country in the Middle East and North Africa to host the Congress of World Association of Sport Management (WASM) after successfully winning the right to host the event in March 2022, the official Qatar News Agency has reported.

The successful bid to host the 2022 WASM Congress in Qatar was a joint effort between Qatar University and Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation.

Hosting the event would be another milestone for Qatar in preparation for hosting of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, QU said in a statement Saturday.

HBKU Press is Leveraging the Digital Wave for Seamless  Book Delivery

Over the past few months, parents and children have had to adjust to working and learning remotely. HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering Collaborates with MoTC to Deliver Webinar Series

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has collaborated with the Ministry of Transport and Communications’ (MoTC) Qatar Digital Government Training Program to deliver a series of webinars. Taking place between June 21 and July 2, the series provided multiple perspectives on COVID-19 research and applications. The webinars were delivered by a number of consultants and experts in the field.

HBKU’s College of Islamic Studies Discusses Progress of Its Covenants of the Prophet Muhammad Project

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently hosted a closed online discussion on Thursday, June 4, 2020 on one of its most groundbreaking projects to date. Dr. Emad El-Din Shahin, Interim Provost and Dean of CIS, explained in his opening statement how the college is leveraging partnerships with different religious communities and academic institutions to build a portal at the Qatar Digital Library on the Covenant of the Prophet Muhammad.

QF’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University Partners in the 12th Islamic Finance Conference Attended by Turkey President

The president of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, participated in the 12th International Conference on Islamic Economics and Finance (ICIEF), hosted online by the Halkali Campus of Turkey’s Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, from June 14-20. 

His Excellency Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, president of the Republic of Turkey, delivered the opening address of the conference, which contributed to a better understanding and interpretation of Islamic finance in the context of the theme ‘Sustainable Development for the Real Economy’.
