CSE Workshop Helps High School Students Explore Cybersecurity

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Science and Engineering (CSE) invited local high school students to engage with the field of cybersecurity in the latest edition of its annual Innovate. Create workshop.

The workshop gave a brief introduction to existing cybersecurity technologies, as well as an overview of common information technology policies, ethics, and management methods designed to protect valuable data. Participants were then given the chance to work together in a group setting, work on practical cybersecurity projects, and gain a better appreciation for the field of computer engineering as a whole.

Every year, the Innovate. Create workshop features a week-long program designed for high school students who have an interest in computer engineering. Participants get the chance to learn more about this field of study from CSE faculty and staff, while also discovering the College’s facilities and the research they regularly conduct.
