CPP Professor’s Latest Paper Studies the Impact of Urban Expansion on Land Rights and Tenure Security of Peri-Urban Farmers

Dr. Logan Cochrane, associate professor at the College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), co-authored a paper with Addiswork Tilahun of Hawassa University, Ethiopia, on how converting peri-urban land into urban land affects the land rights and tenure security of farmers.

How the Pandemic is Widening the Digital Gender Gap in the MENA Region

The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated gender dynamics within the MENA region. Both men and women have borne financial losses but, with their online learning disrupted and a growing unemployment rate, women have additionally suffered from a loss of autonomy, safety, and economic independence. This has unsettled family dynamics in the home and left women balancing the “double burden” of working in the private and public domains.

College of Science and Engineering Partners with MoTC to Support Digitization of SMEs

In cooperation with Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Science and Engineering (CSE), the Ministry of Transport and Communications launched its fifth virtual forum on digital transformation to enhance the continuity of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), on March 29 and 30. The two-day forum, titled “The Digitization of SMEs: An Alternative to Survive,” presented an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences between the speakers and participants in the forum, as well as have the participants answer related questions.

The Journal of Islamic Ethics, established by the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) at the College of Islamic Studies (CIS), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has become the first Islamic studies journal in Qatar and the Middle East to be accepted for inclusion in the prestigious Scopus index of peer-reviewed journals.
