Mounting tensions in East Asia threaten to disrupt the flow of microchips to all parts of the world, raising the prospect of shortages and widespread economic damage. The CHSS’ Steven Wright explains how openness, diversification, and partnerships across borders will ensure that production of these important technologies becomes less vulnerable to prevailing geopolitical headwinds.
