Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Public Policy (CPP) hosted this year’s Academic Network for Development Dialogue (ANDD) Conference, in collaboration with Qatar University (QU), Al-Quds University (AQU) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (UN-ESCWA). Held May 15 at HBKU’s Minaretein building, the conference attracted academics and practitioners for robust discourse concerning the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) wrapped up Autism Awareness Month with a dedicated emphasis on community engagement and outreach across Qatar. Throughout April, QBRI reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to raising awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through different types of activities. These included collaboration with state schools and Qatar Foundation (QF) entities to raise awareness among different age groups.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) will host the 17th World Congress of Bioethics. Organized by the Research Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) and World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), the global health initiative of Qatar Foundation, the theme of this year’s event is “Religion, Culture and Global Bioethics.”
The Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) hosted the International Electrotechnical Commission, Technical Committee 82 - Workgroup 2 Photovoltaic (PV) Modules (IEC TC82 WG2) for a series of meetings from April 21 to 25. This was the first time these meetings took place in Doha, with approximately 60 attendees from 10 different countries participating in person, with more following proceedings online.
