The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) held an on-campus information session for prospective students on February 23. Dr. Mounir Hamdi, CSE Founding Dean - and faculty - presented an overview of CSE’s 13 specialized graduate and undergraduate programs in high-demand fields such as information and computing technology, energy and environment, sustainable development, and engineering management and decision sciences.

Dr. Leslie A. Pal, Founding Dean of the College of Public Policy (CPP), delivered an online presentation to the Governance and Public Policy Think Tank (GPTT) at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran. His topic was “Policy Advisory Networks: Refreshing the Second Wave”. With around 40 faculty and graduate students in attendance, Dr. Pal shared some research findings from his work on global public policy making, and how policy advice gets channeled from global to domestic policy arenas and back.

Maker Majlis at the College of Islamic Studies (CIS), in collaboration with Qatar Scientific Club, held an ‘SDG Education and Design Boot Camp’ on January 29, where participants learned, explored, and developed educational tools to teach the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN-SDGs). The interactive boot camp is part of the major Qatar National Research Fund cluster grant “SDG Education in Qatar” and the first workshop of its kind designed to create SDG-related educational tools.
