Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s College of Public Policy (CPP) showcased its distinctive Master of Public Policy (MPP) and announced the launch of a new Master of Social Policy and Program Evaluation (MSPPE) program at a Graduate Studies Information Session on January 24. The newest full-time master’s degree at CPP provides advanced analytic and substantive knowledge of social policy and program evaluation.

The inaugural edition of the international Middle East Conference 2022, organized by the Middle Eastern Studies Department (MESD) at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS), Hamad Bin Khalifa University, will take place online on February 6-7. Registration is free and open to all.

The College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is encouraging applications for its new Executive Program on Social Policy - Middle East, which is being delivered with the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). 

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Law successfully co-organized an online colloquium on December 9 and 10 titled International Investment Law & New Technologies. The college’s partners in the initiative were the Tilburg Law School in the Netherlands and the Athens Public International Law Center (Athens PIL) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Law. 

The 6th CEOs and Islamic Finance Leaders Roundtable (CIFLR) was organized by the Center for Islamic Economics and Finance (CIEF) at the College of Islamic Studies (CIS), Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), on January 12. The event is the latest edition of the annual series which has been regularly held since the launch of this platform in 2015, as part of CIS’ intellectual contribution towards Qatar’s commitment to economic diversification.

Doha was designated as the Islamic world culture capital for the year 2021 by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO). The timing of this tremendous honor for the city was significant. The COVID-19 pandemic has proven to the world that, for religious believers, the pursuit of knowledge for the improvement of well-being is in dire need of a dialogue between faith and science. 

Guest speakers Swar Al-Dahab Ali and Hisham Nourin - both leaders in promoting humanitarian initiatives - recently engaged with students in the Master of Public Policy (MPP) program on the topics of social issues and effective responses within the education, health, and social sectors. Dr. Logan Cochrane, Associate Professor at the College of Public Policy, facilitated the discussion. 

Asmaa Badwan, a student in the Master of Public Policy program at the College of Public Policy (CPP), was part of the recent HBKU Education Trip to Turkey, which focused on developing academic knowledge. Students visited several high ranking Turkish universities and research centers, exploring the facilities, labs, and advanced technologies, and attending several workshops. 

Hind Al Khulaifi, an alumna of the Master of Public Policy program, gave a lecture in the Specialization Lab in the College of Public Policy, HBKU. The current manager of Qatar National Library’s Children and Young Adult’s section, Khulaifi is one of the founders of Maktaba, Qatar's first privately-managed public children’s library.

The College of Public Policy (CPP), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), held its second Policy Lab on November 17, with the discussion focusing on Women in Public Leadership: Gender and Diversity.
