Hamad Bin Khalifa University to Showcase Programs at International Education Fair in Turkey

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is to showcase the full breadth of its programs during the annual International Education Fair in Turkey, to be held in the cities of Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir from March 9 – 15, 2019.

HBKU will set up booths throughout the event, where prospective students will be able to meet with representatives from HBKU Student Affairs, Office of Enrollment, and faculty members, and avail important information about the University’s programs, campus life, and potential research opportunities.

Public events examine Shari’a and the urgent need for ‘green’ financial practices

Doha, February 23, 2019 – The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has been hosting a series of public events to engage the local community in discussions on progressive concepts in Islamic finance. As part of the series, a public lecture, Green Sukuk and the Climate Change Challenge, was hosted by CIS on Wednesday, February 20, from 7pm to 9pm, examined how the financing mode can drive greener economies.

HBKU’s TII Opens Registration for 10th Annual International Translation Conference

The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII), part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has opened registration for its 10th Annual International Translation Conference, to be held from March 26 to 27 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).

This year’s conference will explore the theme of Translation Beyond the Margins, and will feature presentations by leading experts and practitioners in the fields of translation, interpreting, media, literature and journalism.

HBKU’s College of Law and Public Policy Hosts Minister-President of Paraguay’s Supreme Court of Justice

The College of Law and Public Policy (CLPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently hosted The Right Honorable Dr. José Raúl Torres Kirmser, Minister-President of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Republic of Paraguay. President Kirmser also holds the positions of President of the Judicial Supreme Council and President of the Civil Chamber at the Supreme Court of Paraguay. In a lecture before faculty, students, and invited guests, President Kirmser discussed the role of the Supreme Court of Paraguay and its jurisdiction.

If you were to ever search for Dalal or Munira, you are likely to find them tinkering with bedside equipment, counseling a hospital patient, or seamlessly operating devices nearly twice their weight and size.

This is a day in the life of both students, who are currently enrolled in the College of Health and Life Sciences’ (CHLS) newest academic program in genomics and precision medicine. Dalal and Munira’s time is evenly split between the classroom and state-of-the-art facilities that are housed by their employers.

HBKU College of Health and Life Sciences and Equine Veterinary Medical Center Sign MoU

The College of Health and Life Sciences (CHLS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Equine Veterinary Medical Center (EVMC), which will see the two entities collaborate in areas of research and graduate education.

Dr. Edward Stuenkel, founding dean of CHLS, and Dr. Jessica Johnson, acting director of EVMC, signed the MoU. The agreement aims to extend the productive interactions and research of health and life sciences, enhance biomedical research expertise and expand veterinary competencies.
