Qatari Graduates Complement National Aspirations as Agents of Positive Change

The academic degrees offered at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), are continuously seeking to advance careers and instill stronger ethos of social responsibility. The Class of 2019 was honored at a graduation ceremony on May 4, and is now set for leadership roles in respective fields.

The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is committed to making a sustainable impact in Qatar and beyond through a range of new programs introduced in recent years.  

Students comprising the first cohort from three new programs in computer engineering, sustainable energy, and sustainable environment graduated on May 4 armed with the knowledge and skills to tackle national challenges and make lasting contributions in their chosen fields.

HBKU Students Honored for Community Empowerment at ‘Student Life Awards 2019’

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Student Affairs yesterday held the inaugural Student Life Awards 2019 to honor current students for their contributions to the wider community through non-academic activities. 

HBKU’s Student Affairs committee received and assessed more than 30 nominations based on solid criteria, including participation and involvement in the university’s informal learning environment – community service, community engagement, student leadership, and sports and non-sports competitions.

Away from the Homeland: In Pursuit of Excellence

Like 7.2 million other displaced Palestinian refugees battling bleak conditions, Ghassan Saad, a student of the College of Science and Engineering at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), faced an uncertain future.

But the 19-year-old’s life radically changed when he received a full, merit-based scholarship from Qatar Foundation (QF) Student Financial Services for exemplary academic performance in the first year of his studies – an achievement that ushered in never-before prospects for his academic and career path.

Student Gains National Recognition for Air Quality Research

A student at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is being recognized on a national level for her pioneering research that aims to alleviate the environmental challenges facing Qatar. 

Hanadi Al-Thani, currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainable Environment at the College of Science and Engineering (CSE), is the recipient of the 12th Education Excellence Award in the Scientific Master’s Degree category for her extensive research assessing air quality in Qatar.
