Building upon the recent establishment of its Women in Academia Committee (WiAC), Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) staged its inaugural Forum for Women in Academia at Education City’s Minaretein Building.

Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF), attended Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) launch of the AutismTech Conference, dedicated to positively impacting the lives of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Taking place from April 14 to 16, the event has been co-designed with partners from Qatar, including the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Sidra Medicine, Qatar University (QU), Mada Assistive Technology Center, as well as American institutions: Autism Speaks, and the Autism Science Foundation.

This meeting marks further progress in the CCUS project, an initiative funded by the CO2 Cluster under the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council (QRDI) and a grant from the Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF).

China’s Ambassador to Qatar at GISR

The Global Institute for Strategic Research (GISR) hosted His Excellency Cao Xiaolin, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Qatar, for a discussion with faculty, researchers, and students from across Education City.


Volunteers serving food to over 2,000 guests at the Ramadan tent in Education City.

The Minaretein Building served over 2000 Iftar meals a day during Ramadan, a task which attracted volunteers from across Education City, including HBKU's College of Islamic Studies. Read more about their contributions to this initiative here.
