Experts discuss Qatar’s financial sector development strategy
The College of Public Policy (CPP) recently hosted an economists roundtable to discuss Qatar’s financial sector development strategy and economic diversification prospects for the Gulf region.
The event, chaired by Dr. Ozcan Ozturk, Assistant Professor of Economics, CPP, brought together industry leaders and key figures from both the public and private sectors. Participants exchanged valuable insights on sectoral growth and discussed how their respective organizations are planning for sustainable development in the future.
Prue Morris, Managing Director, Strategy and Risk, Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) delivered a presentation on Qatar’s third financial sector strategic plan, outlining its key goals and the framework for overseeing the industry’s continued growth. The roundtable concluded with Dr. Ahmet Aysan, Professor, College of Islamic Studies (CIS), who outlined strategies for reshaping industrial policy to support economic diversification across the Gulf.
Reflecting on the discussions, Dr. Ozturk said "By hosting such events, CPP continues to serve as a platform for meaningful conversations, driving collaborative efforts that address the region’s most pressing challenges in public policy and beyond."
