Earlier this year, QCRI produced a blueprint with the aim of informing and advising Qatar’s leadership on the potential opportunities and challenges relating to AI, and to propose a path forward.

This newly-forged partnership facilitates genome sequencing of Qataris with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their apparently healthy family members.

Changes in the approach to crescent sighting provides the basis of the next public lecture by Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Islamic Studies (CIS).
Delivered by Sheikh Salman bin Jabor Al Thani, President of the Qatar Astronomical Center, Crescent from the Perspective of Astronomy, Sharia, and Modern Science looks at how modern science and technology have influenced the traditional practice of crescent sighting. In doing so, the event will also consider changes in the perception of this sensitive subject from the standpoint of Sunnah and Shari’a.
