Minister of Transport and Communications Announces Qatar’s National Artificial Intelligence Strategy Developed by HBKU’s Qatar Computing Research Institute

A blueprint produced by Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has been accepted as the country’s national Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy.

Earlier this year, QCRI produced a blueprint with the aim of informing and advising Qatar’s leadership on the potential opportunities and challenges relating to AI, and to propose a path forward.

Qatar Biomedical Research Institute at Hamad Bin Khalifa University has recently signed an agreement with the Qatar Genome Programme.

The Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has taken a major step forward in its mission to transform Qatar’s healthcare with the signing of a collaboration agreement with the Qatar Genome Programme (QGP). This newly-forged partnership facilitates genome sequencing of Qataris with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and their apparently healthy family members.

Delivered by Sheikh Salman bin Jabor Al Thani, President of the Qatar Astronomical Center, Crescent from the Perspective of Astronomy, Sharia, and Modern Science looks at how modern science and technology have influenced the traditional practice of crescent sighting. In doing so, the event will also consider changes in the perception of this sensitive subject from the standpoint of Sunnah and Shari’a.
