Curator Lila Abu Loghd, a world-renowned Professor of Anthropology at Columbia University, led a group of 15 CHSS students and several faculty members through an exhibition, entitled ‘On the Move', to discuss its content, challenges, and potential.

Taking place on December 18, HBKU Press is preparing for the festive season with a diverse array of books to appeal to an international readership of all ages and reading levels.
An audio-descriptive commentary (ADC) service being delivered in Arabic and English at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM could enhance the tournament experience of blind and visually impaired fans and help to ensure an accessible, inclusive event. Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) partnered with the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) to implement the high-quality ADC service during the FIFA World Cup.
An audio-descriptive commentary (ADC) service in Arabic and English – offered as a partnership between Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) and the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE) – is enhancing the match experience of blind and visually impaired fans at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022TM. The legacy impact of the ADC service is supporting Qatar to achieve its vision for delivering an accessible and inclusive tournament for all fans.
The Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has donated a large collection of tree seedlings and saplings that the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy will use to decorate stadiums and facilities hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.
The initiative is part of QBG’s efforts to promote green recovery and environmental conservation efforts and will feature the distribution of 499 varieties of ornamental trees, perennial herbaceous plants, and shrubs that provide an aesthetic character to the facilities.
The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) partnered with Katara and the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Africa to host a timely discussion “Football on the World Stage: What About Africa?” on November 30.
Influential representatives of African football stakeholders, including the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the media, footballers, academics, and African fans and spectators’ associations, focused on the profound impact and multidimensional influence of the FIFA World Cup on the game in Africa.
