Orientation Statement for Dr. Amal Al-Malki, CHSS Founding Dean

Dr. Amal Al-Malki, Founding Dean, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, HBKU: “I would like to welcome all our newly accepted students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and learners at the Translation and Interpreting Institute. They join a robust and thriving community. The college expects a lot out of our students, but at the same time  offers them all the opportunities possible: a world-class education that also connects them with organizations and community actors who can help them develop their skills beyond the classrooms. They will have multiple opportunities to be published and to work on research. Our expectation is that they will leave with sound knowledge in the applications and methodologies demanded within the interdisciplinary fields of Translation and Interpreting and Middle Eastern Studies. The skills and experience they gain at HBKU will equip them to contribute and excel in a rapidly evolving world. Today, they start a journey as part of a supportive community that will help them to prosper and grow, personally and professionally.
