Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) participated in the recent Kidpreneur Incubation Center, an innovative new initiative launched by KidzMondo Doha. The initiative aims to inspire children between the ages of 8 and 14 to become entrepreneurially minded through a series of workshops. As one of the official partners of the month-long children’s event, HBKU’s faculty and students were given an opportunity to engage with the community and play their part in nurturing entrepreneurs and leaders of the future.
Artificial intelligence has been variously depicted as a universal panacea for the world’s ills or as a conspiracy by deep-state operatives. AI’s influence is everywhere, yet there is much that remains unknown about its practical applications and its long-term potential.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) College of Law and Public Policy (CLPP), in collaboration with Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q), is organizing an academic colloquium on March 13 that will examine the phenomenon of targeted political eliminations ordered or sanctioned by a government or its institutions in modern times and throughout history.
A panel discussion chaired by Dr. Ahmad Dallal, dean of GU-Q, will explore this complex issue from a variety of perspectives, and focus on the assassination of civilians in times of armed conflict or political unrest.

Students from the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently visited the library of H.E. the Minister of State Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari. The visiting delegation comprised of faculty and students from the Master of Arts in Islam and Global Affairs (IGA) program. During the visit, Dr. Al-Kuwari discussed aspects of his ministerial and diplomatic roles, and his nomination to serve as Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Hanadi Al-Thani, currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainable Environment at the College of Science and Engineering (CSE), is the recipient of the 12th Education Excellence Award in the Scientific Master’s Degree category for her extensive research assessing air quality in Qatar.

The events were jointly hosted by QFC and the Centre for Islamic and Middle Eastern Law (CIMEL) at the School for Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) – University of London, with HBKU’s CIS and the International Islamic Research Academy (ISRA) of Malaysia as academic partners.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is to showcase the full breadth of its programs during the annual International Education Fair in Turkey, to be held in the cities of Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir from March 9 – 15, 2019.
HBKU will set up booths throughout the event, where prospective students will be able to meet with representatives from HBKU Student Affairs, Office of Enrollment, and faculty members, and avail important information about the University’s programs, campus life, and potential research opportunities.
