Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has announced the launch of its Qatar International Cybersecurity Contest (QICC), to be held in Doha from October 1 to 3. The inaugural contest aims to enhance the leading role of Qatar in understanding and strengthening cybersecurity through international and local networking.
QICC, open to the wider community, and undergraduate and graduate students worldwide, will see contestants work independently or in groups over three days to devise preventive measures and realistic solutions to growing cyber threats.
The College of Science and Engineering (CSE) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently hosted Dr. Kiril Terekhov, a researcher from the Russian Academy of Sciences, who addressed the topic of ‘Advanced Numerical Platform for Solving Challenging Mathematical Problems’.
The lecture explored a mathematical library (INMOST) for supercomputers which includes advanced algorithms and data distribution for real complex and applied problems in oil and gas, health and medicine, environment and climate change.

Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), member of Qatar Foundation, together with Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) organized a lecture for parents of children with type 1 diabetes. Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation, recently reached out to prospective future students through information sessions hosted at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMU-Q), Georgetown University in Qatar (GU-Q), Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), and Northwestern University in Qatar (NU-Q). As part of the initiative, class visits were also conducted at Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar).
The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is currently hosting a series of explorative lectures as part of its ongoing outreach program to offer the wider community an opportunity to learn more about the various spheres of Islam and Muslim societies.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press is proud to represent Qatar on the European literary stage at two of the most influential book fairs in the region: the London Book Fair 2019 and Salon Livre Paris 2019 (the Paris Book Fair). This will be HBKU Press’ second consecutive year showcasing their catalog of works at the London Book Fair, which runs from 12–14 March; and is the first time it ever participates in the Paris Book Fair, from 16–19 March.
