QBG Mudball

The Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG), a member of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has developed a unique mudball to commemorate the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 taking place in Qatar from December 1-18, 2025. This initiative aligns with the Garden’s mission to highlight Qatar’s natural environment and deepen public engagement with nature through creative experiences that blend heritage with environmental awareness.

QBG partnered with the design company taking the opportunity to showcase Qatar’s reputation for innovation, excellence, and sustainable practice.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has launched the Qatar World Trade Organization (WTO) Chair. The commencement of this initiative follows the selection earlier this year of the College of Law’s Dr. Georgios Dimitropoulos, Professor of Law and Associate Dean for Research, as chairholder.

The launch, held at the Minaretein Building, Education City, under the theme Navigating Challenges and Opportunities in the Digital and Industrial Economy. The event underscores its commitment to shape global debates on trade, digital transformation, and industrial policymaking.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Student Success Services unit has been awarded Level 1 and Level 2 certified tutor training programs by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA).

With almost 1,300 members and over 2,000 certified training programs worldwide, CRLA’s International Tutor Training Program Certification (ITTPC) licenses projects that have demonstrated excellence in developing, designing, and implementing effective training procedures. 


Trees prepared for transport

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance Qatar’s vegetation cover and preserve native plant species, the Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG), a member of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has distributed 5,000 native trees and wild plants over the past 2 months. 

The distributed species included sidr (Ziziphus spina-christi), samar (Vachellia tortilis), ghaf (Prosopis cineraria), qarat (Vachellia nilotica), awsaj (Lycium shawii), neem (Azadirachta indica), and frankincense (Boswellia sacra) trees, which are propagated in QBG’s nurseries using advanced scientific techniques.

The two-day event was co-organized by Qatar Precision Health Institute (QPHI) and sponsored by Qatar Research Development and Innovation (QRDI) Council.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the Organizing Committee of the GCC Women's Sports Committee for Universities and Higher Education Institutions have announced details of the upcoming tournament, set to take place at HBKU from February 6 to 11, 2026, with the Opening Ceremony taking place February 7.

In a press conference, members of the GCC Supervisory Committee, and several leaders from the sports and academic sectors, introduced participating universities, sports disciplines, and competition schedule.
