The Student Council at the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) in Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), under the aegis of the CIS Research Division, successfully concluded its annual student research conference. The one-day event, which was held on Saturday, April 13, provided students with an opportunity to showcase the breadth of their academic works.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) Student Affairs yesterday held the inaugural Student Life Awards 2019 to honor current students for their contributions to the wider community through non-academic activities.
HBKU’s Student Affairs committee received and assessed more than 30 nominations based on solid criteria, including participation and involvement in the university’s informal learning environment – community service, community engagement, student leadership, and sports and non-sports competitions.
Representatives from Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently welcomed Her Excellency Michelle Mūntefering, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, as she visited the university and met with faculty and administration at HBKU’s College of Science and Engineering (CSE). Professor Yousef Haik, Associate Provost at HBKU, and Professor Amine Bermak, Associate Dean acting on behalf of Dr. Mounir Hamdi, Dean of CSE, introduced Her Excellency to the university’s vision, programs, and distinctive academic approach.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is to showcase the full breadth of its programs during the annual International Education Fair in Turkey, to be held in the cities of Ankara, Istanbul, and Izmir from March 9 – 15, 2019.
HBKU will set up booths throughout the event, where prospective students will be able to meet with representatives from HBKU Student Affairs, Office of Enrollment, and faculty members, and avail important information about the University’s programs, campus life, and potential research opportunities.

The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII), part of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has opened registration for its 10th Annual International Translation Conference, to be held from March 26 to 27 at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC).
This year’s conference will explore the theme of Translation Beyond the Margins, and will feature presentations by leading experts and practitioners in the fields of translation, interpreting, media, literature and journalism.
