Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has signed a Data License and Consulting Service Agreement with Redco International that will support renewable energy solutions for the country’s transportation sector.

Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute Signs MoU with Ministry of Public Health
A team of researchers from Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), and the College of Science and Engineering (CSE), both part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has developed a new material for water treatment applications. Carbide Derived Carbon (CDC) has the unique ability to efficiently remove and recover phosphate from treated water, while also removing micro-pollutants such as pharmaceuticals and endocrine disrupting compounds.
The College of Public Policy (CPP) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University is a sponsor of the II International Conference on Policy Diffusion and Development Cooperation (II ICPDDC) taking place online. CPP has been closely involved in supporting the development of the overall conference program and the series of panels that began in January and will be presented throughout February, leading up to concluding plenaries in March. Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei, the leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, aimed at strengthening research collaboration, knowledge exchange, internship, and funding. The MoU comes as part of a broader, ongoing Qatar Foundation collaboration with Huawei.

The College of Public Policy (CPP), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), in collaboration with Brookings Doha Center (BDC), hosted an e-workshop on “Governance in the MENA Region: What Can We Learn from Responses to COVID19?” The e-workshop addressed the institutional and governance challenges facing countries of the MENA region that have been exacerbated and exposed as a result of the global coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Eleni Polymenopoulou, Assistant Professor at the College of Law, was named visiting fellow at the University College London, Qatar from January to March 2020, where she conducted research and presented lectures on cultural heritage law and human rights.
Dr. Eleni has also been invited to Harvard Law School for a visiting fellowship this year and was offered a contract with Cambridge University Press for a monograph on the topic of artistic freedom in international law.
