Visit of CLPP faculty to Istanbul Law School

Dr. Zachary Calo and Dr. Barry Solaiman from the HBKU College of Law and Public Policy (CLPP) were recently invited to Istanbul Law School to discuss issues relating to commercial mediation in the Middle East. The field is one that is ripe for exploration and development as judicial resolution of disputes may be timely and costly. Also, mediation is considered a friendlier way for parties to resolve their differences. The CLPP professors made presentations to undergraduate and postgraduate students. They discussed potential future collaborations with the Istanbul Law School faculty while identifying matters of mutual interest between HBKU and Istanbul Law School, one of Turkey’s most renowned institutions of higher education.

On their visit, Dr. Calo and Dr. Solaiman stated the following: “We are truly grateful to the faculty and students at Istanbul Law School who extended their generous hospitality to us. At a time of prospering ties between Qatar and Turkey more broadly, we are excited to continue exploring future collaborations between HBKU CLPP and Istanbul Law School’.
