‘Green Mirror: A Look at Our Sustainable Future’ was the theme of the first international conference on energy, sustainability, environment, and the law on March 16-17, a collaboration between Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU)’s Law Society and the European Law Students’ Association (ELSA Padova), University of Padova, Italy. 

Dr. Logan Cochrane, Associate Professor and Director of the Program on Governance, Resilience and Sustainability (PROGRESS) at the College of Public Policy (CPP), recently gave a presentation to the Governance and Policy Think Tank at Sharif University of Technology, Iran. His talk discussed “Whose Voice Matters in the Teaching and Learning of International Political Economy”.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and Texas A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ) have agreed to formalize their cooperation in undergraduate computer engineering education while developing new ways to collaborate, under the framework of a recently signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). 

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with talabat, the region’s leading local tech company, that will enable students to apply industry-relevant knowledge to benefit their career development. The one-year MoU is particularly aimed at students in the College of Science and Engineering (CSE)’s multidisciplinary programs in logistics and supply chain management, sustainable energy, and sustainable environment, at both the Masters and PhD levels. 

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to promote education in intellectual property (IP) law. 

Dr. Leslie Pal, Founding Dean of the College Public Policy, was part of a site visit to Chiang Mai University, Thailand, on December 14-18. The visit was conducted by the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) as part of an official bid by the School of Public Policy at Chiang Mai University to hold the International Conference on Public Policy in 2023. 

This year is the centenary of the discovery of the hormone insulin, which is created by the pancreas to control the amount of glucose in blood and regulate body carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation, has signed a framework agreement with the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) to cooperate on research, training, and development in the fields of integrity, transparency, accountability, and anti-corruption. 

The Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), will feature prominent national stakeholders and sustainability leaders during the second edition of its flagship event, the International Conference on Sustainable Energy-Water-Environment Nexus in Desert Climates 2021 (ICSEWEN21). 

The Translation and Interpreting Institute (TII) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), in partnership with the Centre for Access to Football in Europe (CAFE), recently hosted a commentary training program to enhance the match-day experience for partially sighted and blind fans.
