Join our seminar on the shared signaling molecules between neurogenesis and brain tumorigenesis, which regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival.

Neural stem cells (NSCs) undergo tightly regulated processes of self-renewal and differentiation to ensure accurate cell division and production of neurons and glial cells. Abnormalities in these molecular mechanisms lead to devastating neurodevelopmental diseases and trigger neoplastic transformation and cancer stem cells. Our research shows that DIAPH3, expressed in NSCs, safeguards their division.

The seminar will feature a presentation and a discussion of two recent studies published by the World Bank. These studies draw on lessons learned from 20 years of international partner engagement with Afghanistan, placing current engagement within this context, and examining potential ways forward in the medium and long term.

The Summer Research Program runs for eight weeks at Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI). It offers intensive research and software development training to undergraduate students in the fields of Arabic Language Technologies, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, and Software Engineering.
