Qatar Biomedical Research Institute (QBRI) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) is providing its full support to Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) COVID-19 efforts through a volunteer program, which was carried out in the summer months of 2020.
In June, QBRI employed all of its efforts to provide high-caliber volunteers to HMC. The research institute also placed the capabilities of its research staff at HMC’s disposal, as they provided technical assistance within the corporation’s laboratories where needed.

In line with its mission to frame debates on Islam in a global context, the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has recently collaborated with Belgium’s Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven). This collaboration was reflected in joint academic activities between the Center for Islamic Legislation and Ethics (CILE) and KU Leuven’s Leuven Centre for the Study of Islam, Culture and Society (LCSICS) to deliver a virtual summer school and an international conference. It was cemented with a memorandum of understanding between the institutions.

The 2021-2020 academic year kicked off on August 16 for new and returning students at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) with a virtual ‘Start to Academic Year 2020 - 2021’.
