The College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) explored the potential of green finance in Qatar during a joint workshop with the Qatar Financial Centre on December 2-3. Nexus of Green Finance and Islamic Finance set out to assist policymakers as well as key private sector actors to identify alternative and innovative approaches for raising financing for green projects. Unlocking climate finance can play a key role in achieving Qatar’s climate change mitigation and adaptation goals. The workshop reflected on country experiences in green finance implementation, including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Turkey, toward shaping a green finance roadmap for Qatar.
