CPP Professor to Speak at UNFPA Arab States Expert Group Meeting on Research

Dr. Anis Ben Brik, associate professor and founding director of the Program for Social Policy and Evaluation at the College of Public Policy (CPP), will be participating in the upcoming Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on Research on June 17, which is being organized by the United Nations Population Fund, Arab States Regional Office (UNFPA ASRO). UNFPA is the lead UN agency that expands the possibilities for women and young people to have good sexual and reproductive health.

With its multidisciplinary academic programs and research capabilities driving collaboration with the world’s best institutions, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has expanded its cooperation with Russian academic institutions and other entities during the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF). HBKU’s colleges and research institutes signed several agreements to promote closer working relationships in areas of research and education. 


QF’s Hamad Bin Khalifa University Joins Global Speakers Discussing Educational Priorities at SPIEF 2021

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF), strengthened its global positioning through contributions to the strategic knowledge exchanges at the 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

HBKU’s senior leadership and graduate students showcased the university’s research achievements, multidisciplinary programs, and potential exchange opportunities at its booth in the Qatar Pavilion, and were among key speakers on several panels and sessions.

What are the highlights of the graduating classes?

As we witness unprecedented global circumstances and continue to be confronted by the pandemic’s challenges, I would like to extend a special message to congratulate the Classes of 2020 and 2021. I would also like to commend their resilience, persistence and determination, and encourage them to move forward towards a brilliant future, despite all the difficulties they have faced. 


HBKU Press Children’s Books Recognized at 2021 Next Generation Indie Book Awards

Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press’s The Forgotten Garden, written originally in Arabic by Basma Elkhatib, illustrated by Omar Lafi and translated into English by Ghenwa Yehia, was named finalist in the category of Children’s Picture Book (Illustrative 6 Years & Up) in this year’s edition of the Next Generation Indie Book Awards, and One Box, Many Hearts, written by first-time author Bayan Khaled and illustrated by Fadi Salameh, was also recognized as a finalist in the category of Best Overall Design (Fiction).
