On February 9, 2022, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) launched Localizing Entrepreneurship Education, by Dr. Evren Tok, Assistant Dean of Innovation and Community Engagement and Associate Professor of Islam and Global Affairs at HBKU’s College of Islamic Studies, and Dr.
Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Student Affairs presented a workshop on January 31 to remind graduate students of the importance of mental health. The initiative formed part of the professional personal and emotional counseling HBKU provides to students to support their mental health and help them achieve their academic goals and self-development.
The Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Innovation Center is a pioneering initiative that was launched in 2018 to foster entrepreneurship and creativity.
The center aligns perfectly with HBKU’s role as an innovation-based entrepreneurial university leading in education and research to solve critical challenges facing Qatar and the world.
The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) presented an online event on January 19 that gave prospective students a chance to discover its Master of Arts (MA) in Contemporary Islamic Studies program. Faculty presented short lectures to highlight the unique way in which the program is tailored to examine traditional Islamic knowledge in the context of present-day challenges. After a one-year hiatus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) is proud to present two years’ worth of new Arabic and English books across all genres at the 31st Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) 2022 from January 13 – 22 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
A team of two first-year Juris Doctor (JD) students from Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU’s) College of Law showcased their legal interviewing skills during Amity University’s International Counseling Competition (AUICC), which was held online on December 11-12. Team members Ayesha Bashir and Tasniem Ahmed Elyass Hussain, who were coached by College of Law Professor Hilary Bell, finished second overall in the second edition of the competition run by the Dubai-based university.

The LEGO Serious Play (LSP) activity was run by certified LSP facilitator Dr. Evren Tok, Assistant Dean of Innovation and Community Engagement and Associate Professor of Islam and Global Affairs, College of Islamic Studies (CIS).
Maker Majlis, a platform operating under the College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), and now also under the SDG Education and Global Citizenship in Qatar Project, has been accepted as a member of the UN Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN) Youth community, becoming the first platform to be part of the SDSN Youth Network in Qatar.
