Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Alfardan Group to engage in strategic collaboration that advances Qatar’s technological and economic development while strengthening its innovation and entrepreneurial culture.
The latest edition of the Education City Speaker Series featured a talk by former United States Secretary of State, Michael Pompeo, on the topic “America – It Must Be a Force for Good”. Dr. Leslie A. Pal, Dean of the College of Public Policy, moderated the event, which took place at Qatar National Library.
The QF series is a platform for dialogue that hosts experts and thought-leaders on key topics and issues shaping the world, and allows members of the public to interact with them.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press (HBKU Press) has applauded parents for their critical efforts and commitments within their respective communities. Earlier this month was the Global Day of Parents, an event commemorated annually by the UN to celebrate the world’s parents and their invaluable contributions to children everywhere.
Highlighting institutional excellence, the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) held the second event in its “Thematic Research Highlights Series” on June 9 to showcase four active projects. The series demonstrates the university’s commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-collaborative research aligned with HBKU’s strategic research areas and with Qatar Foundation’s overall goals and objectives.

The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) held a Student Appreciation Ceremony in recognition of students who earned a place on the Dean’s Honor List during the academic year 2021–2022. Held at Minaretein, the annual gathering witnessed the participation of faculty, researchers, students, and staff to collectively celebrate the successful completion of an academic year, highlight high-achieving students, and bring their accomplishments to the fore.

Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), a member of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), convened a three-day workshop titled “The Impact of Sustainable Buildings in Arid Environments: Indoor and Outdoor Air Quality”. Co-organized with the City College of New York (CUNY) and sponsored by Qatar National Research Fund (QNRF). The workshop brought together nearly 60 Qatar-based and international attendees. They represented 24 local and international research and government entities.
