Creative Space, part of the Qatar Computing Research Institute (QCRI) under Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has announced the winners of its Python Programming Competition, which challenged 90 middle and high school students to put their coding skills to the test.

The College of Public Policy (CPP) held a webinar “Polarization, Populism, and Authoritarianism in the Age of the Anthropocene” on April 5 to continue its ‘Governance in Times of Crises’ webinar series. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on families, women, and children in the Arab region was the focus of an online seminar jointly organized by Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s College of Public Policy (CPP), the College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, Kuwait University on March 30. 

Qatar Environment and Energy Research Institute (QEERI), part of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), recently organized its first Science Majlis of 2021, titled ‘Is Corrosion a Cancer for Qatar’s Environment?’, as part of the institute’s goal to raise awareness among the community on research related to energy, water, and environmental grand challenges.

Design Post-COVID Humanity (DPCH), a Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) initiative in collaboration with strategic partners, recently held a two-day global youth social event “Ahd (Pledge) for Post-COVID Humanity”. In partnership with SOGLAB Design Studio and Maker Majlis, a platform under HBKU’s College of Islamic Studies (CIS), the virtual event brought together academics, youth leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to work with youth and harness their ability to reimagine a post-COVID humanity from a Global Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) perspective.
