This talk examines the recent development of global halal tourism networks and the often frustrated attempts of actors involved in this emergent sector of Islamic enterprise to map leisure and tourist spaces in relation to Muslim sensibilities, practices, historical imaginaries and belongings.

The lecture will cover Mr. Rashid A. Al Mansoori’s background and career path and how Information Technology (IT) was instrumental in helping him become the CEO of QSE.

Mr. Mansoori is also a board member of the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC), the Qatar Finance and Business Academy (QFBA) and the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). Mr. Mansoori enjoys extensive administrative and technical experience across various positions and has supervised numerous successful initiatives and projects as well as IT Director at the Qatar Investment Authority (QIA).
