WISH 2022

An initiative founded by Qatar Foundation in 2013, WISH has become a leading global platform where scientists, entrepreneurs and policy makers meet to develop solutions to major health issues facing the world today and explore ways in which innovation can improve these issues for the future.

Across three days, WISH 2022 will explore a wide range of topics through talks, presentations and interactive panel discussions, workshops and roundtables.

Session Title: The Ethics of AI in Healthcare

Advancements in genetics and genomics have provided great opportunities for improving children’s health and the overall wellbeing of their families. These opportunities, however, are often intertwined with complex ethical questions and challenges that need to be examined in light of people’s moral and religio-ethical convictions.

Description: 

Regular physical activity and sports positively impact one’s health and wellbeing in a number of ways: reducing the risk of chronic physical health conditions such as diabetes and obesity; reducing the occurrence and impact of depression and anxiety; and improving self-esteem and prosocial behavior. These benefits hold true for all segments of the population. Yet persons with disabilities (PWDs) are less likely to engage in any physical activity or sports, often due to insufficient efforts by sports organizations, schools, governments, and policymakers to make these activities more inclusive.

This panel will provide an overview of the key issues relating to inclusivity and sports, and potential solutions to address them.
