25 students honored for exceptional academic performance

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) recently recognized undergraduate students who demonstrated academic excellence throughout their studies at the President’s and Dean’s List Recognition Ceremony.
This year, 25 students from the College of Science and Engineering’s (CSE) Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program were featured on the lists. Students who earned a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.75 or higher in the preceding academic year were named to the President’s List, while those with a CGPA of 3.5 or higher made the Dean’s List. Recipients received certificates acknowledging each semester they met these criteria.
Dr. Ahmad M. Hasnah, President, HBKU, and Dr. Mounir Hamdi, Dean, CSE, addressed the President’s List and Dean’s List honorees, commemorating them on their achievements and celebrating their dedication to their own academic success. They took the stage in respective turns to hand the awards to the honorees and congratulate them personally.
Noting their accomplishments, Dr. Hamdi remarked: “These students excelled within our uniquely integrated teaching and research environment and positioned themselves to shape novel solutions to challenges facing Qatar and the world. Their commitment to realizing their potential serves as a model of lifelong personal and professional growth for their peers.”
Speaking on behalf of all awardees, Sai Surag Lingampalli, a Cum Laude graduate of CSE’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program and a recipient of Qatar Foundation’s Excellence Award this year, expressed gratitude to the university’s leadership, faculty, and staff for their support. He also reflected on his classmates’ collective perseverance and rigor throughout their studies, as well as their active engagement with the local community.
The ceremony concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Mohamed Abdallah, Professor and Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies and Quality Assurance, CSE, who commended the students for their accomplishments and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence in their future academic endeavors.
The President’s and Dean’s Lists are a mark of distinction for the highest-performing students, exemplifying how the university imbues future leaders with an entrepreneurial mindset and drive to advocate for innovation that positively impacts communities around the world.
