CPP Professor to Speak at UNFPA Arab States Expert Group Meeting on Research

Dr. Anis Ben Brik, associate professor and founding director of the Program for Social Policy and Evaluation at the College of Public Policy (CPP), will be participating in the upcoming Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on Research on June 17, which is being organized by the United Nations Population Fund, Arab States Regional Office (UNFPA ASRO). UNFPA is the lead UN agency that expands the possibilities for women and young people to have good sexual and reproductive health.

Dr. Ben Brik will be participating as a member of an expert panel during the EGM, which will be gathering UNFPA ASRO advisors, specialists, and associates. Chaired by Dr. Luay Shabaneh, regional director, UNFPA ASRO, the meeting is expected to lead to expert recommendations on how to prioritize interdisciplinary research for enhancing the Sustainable Development Goals agenda and the ICPD Programme of Action in the Arab States. Signed at the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development (IPCD), the agenda calls for all people to have access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare.
