CPP Dean Reflects on Qatar Human Manara Project

On January 18, Dr. Leslie A. Pal, Founding Dean of the College Public Policy, and Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, Dean of HEC Paris in Qatar, co-chaired a focus group ‘Harnessing Labor Market Intelligence’ as part of the Career Guidance Stakeholders Platform 2022. The Platform was hosted by the Qatar Career Development Center, a Qatar Foundation (QF) member. It brought together decision-makers, researchers, stakeholders, and practitioners to discuss current and future labor market developments and their implications for Qatar. Dr. Pal and Dr. de Holan’s focus group was on QF’s Qatar Human Manara Project, launched in 2021 to explore the implications of labor market developments for higher education institutions. The Manara team (consisting of representatives of HBKU and partner universities) has submitted two interim reports and is preparing its final report. The focus group was an opportunity for the team, invited guests, and participants to review work done by Manara to date, and discuss key issues to be included in the final recommendations.
