At the Canadian Association of African Studies (CAAS) Annual Conference 2021, held virtually from June 7-10, Dr. Logan Cochrane, associate professor at the College of Public Policy (CPP), was among the key participants, hosting conference panels and presenting his research on foreign investment in Africa.
On June 10, Dr. Cochrane co-hosted two panels with Dr. Marie Gagne (Concordia University). The academics who featured on the panels presented their published research based on the book co-edited by Dr. Cochrane (with Dr. Nathan Andrews), titled The Transnational Land Rush in Africa: A Decade After the Spike. The book sheds light on the intricate political economy of land governance in Africa. During another session, Dr. Cochrane also presented on the topic “Examining the Land Rush Across Africa: Take Away Lessons and Future Directions”.
The conference brought together scholars, researchers, and professionals to present their multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary work on all aspects of African Studies.
