CPP Announces Distinguished Visiting Professorship

The College of Public Policy at HBKU has announced a new professorship - the “Distinguished Visiting Professor of Public Value” - designed to stimulate policy impact and dialogue in Qatar.

Each year, CPP will invite to HBKU two or three internationally renowned scholars/practitioners from different fields of policy debate in Qatar and the world. They will share their research with HBKU scholars and students, and within Education City, engage with policy professionals and public and private sector leaders, while also reaching out to the wider community.

The first Distinguished Visiting Professor of Public Value will be Dr. Wolfgang Drechsler, in fall 2022. Dr. Drechsler is Professor of Governance at the Ragnar Nurkse Department of Innovation and Governance, Tallinn University of Technology, Estonia, Honorary Professor of University College London in the UCL Institute of Innovation and Public Purpose, and Associate at Harvard University’s Davis Center. He has served as Advisor to the President of Estonia, and as a consultant to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), Council of Europe, World Bank, European Union, and national governments. His book on Innovation Bureaucracies (with Rainer Kattel and Erkki Karo) will be published by Yale University Press in September 2022.
