QCRI researchers at work

The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) has officially launched its enhanced research management system, ‘Elmi’. The comprehensive and unified platform is designed to empower collaboration, highlight research strengths, and share the university’s achievements globally.

Elmi, derived from the Arabic word for ‘science’ and ‘knowledge’, reflects one of the platform’s core purposes of advancing HBKU’s research as well as fostering a culture of discovery and academic excellence.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) will host a forward-looking conference exploring the global ethical implications of AI technologies. Taking place September 28-29, at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), AI Ethics: The Convergence of Technology and Diverse Moral Traditions centrally considers the impact of AI on culture, tradition, and values.

Visitors to QBG’s exhibit at Expo Osaka

The Qur’anic Botanic Garden (QBG), a member of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), is participating in the State of Qatar Pavilion at Expo 2025, in Osaka, Japan, from August 21 to 31. 

QBG’s involvement builds on its record of engagement in major international platforms, reaffirming its pioneering role as the world’s first garden dedicated to plant species mentioned in the Qur’an and Sunnah. It is also the second accredited botanical garden in the Middle East.

Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) held its Student Orientation Program for a record number of incoming students. Held August 19 to 21 at the Minaretein and Manufactury in Education City for new undergraduates and postgraduates, the event also provided an opportunity to welcome returning students back to campus.

bNovate Technologies, a leader in advanced microbial water quality monitoring, is proud to announce its participation in the SMART-Distribution project. This pioneering initiative addresses critical challenges in Qatar’s water distribution networks. The project seeks to enhance the resilience of Qatar’s water infrastructure against climate-induced risks through innovative, real-time water quality monitoring and advanced risk assessment tools.
