Vaccinating Against COVID-19: Medical, Policy, and Legal Dimensions

21Feb2021

The race to immunize citizens around the world against COVID-19 has begun. This rollout is a critical step in the move towards ending the pandemic and saving lives. Despite this milestone, the speed at which vaccines have been developed, the unequal distribution of them (whether among States or even within a single State), and the potential impact of vaccinations on individual access to travel or certain facilities, such as sports and concert arenas, has raised challenging legal, medical, and policy concerns.

This webinar will examine the following issues from an interdisciplinary perspective:

  • Should immunization be mandated for all?
  • If required for certain workers, can a person opt out?
  • What legal challenges could arise as to the distribution system?
  • What measures should be in place to ensure the security of medicine?

None of these questions can be answered from any single perspective, as informed answers require input from medical, legal, and policy experts.
